Hello from Naples!
July was an incredible month for the Wakelin family. After graduating from the University of Washington and Elon University, Natalie and Riley both accepted their first career positions.
Natalie earned her master's degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Washington and will begin working in the Snohomish School District on August 17. She has already passed her state licensing exam and is excited to begin her career.
Riley graduated from Elon University in May with a B.A. in Digital Communications. After an extensive job search, she accepted a position with a marketing firm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She'll be moving into her first apartment during the second week of August and, coincidentally, will also start her new job on August 17.
Nicola and I couldn't be prouder of our girls. Watching them both begin the next chapter of their lives—and on the very same day—is something we'll never forget.
On the home front, I had shoulder surgery on July 14th and I’m still recovering. Nicola has been an amazing nurse, although she'd probably tell you I'm not the easiest patient! She's looking forward to the day she no longer has to tie my shoes. Thankfully, physical therapy is paying off, and I feel a little stronger every day. Thank you to everyone who reached out with your encouragement and well wishes. They have meant a great deal to us.
