July was hot, and it certainly seemed like we received plenty of rain. However, despite 5.35 inches of rainfall during the month, Naples remains nearly four inches below its normal year-to-date rainfall. Additional rainfall is still needed to replenish groundwater levels and continue easing drought conditions across Southwest Florida.
As full-time Naples residents, we're accustomed to the summer heat and humidity. Even so, this summer has felt especially hot. Interestingly, the weather data tells a different story. Last July set the record with a high temperature of 98 degrees, while this July's highest temperature reached 97 degrees. Sometimes our perception doesn't quite match the numbers!
