Restaurant Review: Eddie V’s
Eddie V's arrived in Naples with plenty of fanfare. Since it opened, I've seen it debated all over social media. Some say, "It's just another chain restaurant," while others claim it's the best new restaurant in Naples. Naturally, Nicola and I had to see for ourselves.
The location is certainly convenient for us. Situated next to Waterside Shops, it's an easy drive without having to battle the traffic on Fifth Avenue South.
Our first impression was very positive. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between Capital Grille and Ocean Prime—upscale, lively, and energetic. The bar was already hopping when we arrived, creating a fun vibe.
We started with a selection of oysters. I've always heard you're not supposed to order oysters during the summer months, but these were excellent—ice cold, fresh, and delicious.
The star of the evening was the crab cake. It was outstanding, and Nicola declared it the best crab cake she's ever had.
For our entrees, we shared the lamb chops and the Parmesan sole. Both were very good, and the au gratin potatoes we ordered as a side were absolutely outstanding.
To finish the meal, I enjoyed the Bananas Foster while Nicola chose the Berries & Cream. Both desserts were excellent and a fitting end to a wonderful dinner.
The service was attentive from start to finish, and we left having had a fantastic evening. While Eddie V's isn't locally owned, great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere never go out of style. I think it's an excellent addition to the Naples dining scene, and I would highly recommend giving it a try.
