Hello from Naples!
It seems like we write this every month, but man, was August busy! Nicola and I enjoyed a few days away in Colorado, where we went to see one of Nicola’s favorite bands at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. What an experience! The concert was incredible, and seeing a show at Red Rocks checked off a bucket-list experience for both of us. We also did some hiking and sightseeing near Colorado Springs. Being in the mountains was spectacular—and it provided some much-needed relief from the August heat in Naples.
Once we returned, Nicola was off to help Riley relocate to Winston-Salem, NC where she has started her job with Tandem Senior Living Advisors as an Associate Digital Designer. Nicola doesn’t like to spend more than a few hours in a car, let alone 14 hours in a 15-foot U-Haul van! Nic and Riley made it without incident, got Riley moved into her new place, and accomplished the three goals they had once they arrived. For “the rest of the story,” please call Nicola and ask her about the hysterical adventure of moving a couch!
Our other daughter, Natalie started her job as a Speech Pathologist with the Snohomish School District. This marked a big milestone in our lives, both kids are off the payroll and we are officially empty nesters!
Jeff continues to recover from MAJOR shoulder surgery (he is just looking for sympathy). He is making progress and hopes to be back on the golf course when The Strand reopens in November.
