August brought plenty of the heat and afternoon storms we expect this time of year, but Naples continues to run dry overall. We received 6.53 inches of rain during August, compared with 8.04 inches last August. Through the first eight months of 2026, Naples has received 28.03 inches of rain—more than 6 inches below the normal year-to-date total of 34.31 inches and about 3.5 inches less than we had received at this point last year. Temperatures remained typically warm, with an August high of 95 degrees and a low of 73 degrees. Despite what sometimes feels like a very wet summer, we still have some catching up to do when it comes to rainfall.
