If you like sushi, Mimoto is an absolute must! This small, hidden gem is tucked behind Unidos near the corner of 9th St. S and US 41, and it is worth finding. Parking can be a little challenging, but if you drive around behind Unidos, you may be able to grab a spot right behind the restaurant.
For those of you who know us, even a little, you know how much our family loves fish and sushi. Riley may be the toughest critic of all—she considers herself a bit of a sushi connoisseur. So, when she left Mimoto saying it was the best sushi she had ever had, that got our attention!
We started with the Hon Maguro Tuna Carpaccio, which was excellent and a great way to begin the meal. From there, we shared several different Maki Rolls, and every one of them was fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The clear favorite for us was the Hamachi Togarashi Maki. It was incredible and one of those dishes we were still talking about after dinner.
What also stood out was the service. It was the perfect combination of professional and personal. Everyone was welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable, and by the end of the evening you almost felt like you were part of the family. That can be hard to find, especially in a restaurant this good.
Mimoto is small and intimate, which is part of its charm, but that also means reservations are highly recommended. If you are a sushi lover—or even if you are just looking for something a little different from the usual Naples dining scene—put Mimoto on your list. We will definitely be back.
